Stockwell Cafe + Lounge | Your One-Stop-Shop Cafe

It's really hard to look for a restaurant that has everything you need like a one-stop-shop especially if you are dining in with your family. You want coffee while your Mom and Dad need comfort food, or your kid likes to eat something sweet. So, establishing a place that offers these is kinda rare. But thankfully, I found one cafe at SM Fairview named Stockwell Cafe + Lounge.

Stockwell Cafe + Lounge is actually the owner's third branch in the metro. The two others are located at Tomas Morato and The Podium Mall. This was actually my first time to try here despite the fact that they've been here in the metro for quite some time. This cafe is basically mixed up of cafe, restaurant, and wine bar so every customer regardless of age can choose what they want to consume.

The ambiance of this restaurant has a homey feel to make your dining experience comfortable and laid-back. They have ample space for a large group of diners especially for families and friends who love to eat together. There's also an interesting mural of coffee illustrations for you to have an idea of what to order.

According to the owner, Stockwell serves third-wave coffee, meaning they use high-quality artisanal coffee outsourced from different places such as Benguet, Sagada, Brazil, among others to the different brewing methods like a syphon, Aeropress, v60, flat bottom, and cold brew. They claimed to serve not just ordinary coffee, but quality beans to extraction until the brewing process to make good and balanced coffee tasting experience. On the menu, I tried the Stockwell 50/50 which has a combination of 50% milk and coffee + 50% secret ingredient. For a first-timer here, I actually like the balanced taste of everything.

Just like what I've mentioned above, Stockwell's menu is not limited to coffee only. They actually have a wide range of food selections like appetizers, all-day breakfast, sandwiches, rice, and a lot of dishes.

Shrimp Aglio Olio (R P220 | L P420)
I loved this pasta though it was a little salty for my taste. It had lots of garlic and chili flakes and pan-seared shrimps.

Grilled Chops (P260)
We wanted to try their Signature Baby back Ribs but it wasn't available then. We had these grilled chops instead. If you tried the "kanto porkchop" style, this is really is! It was smoky, tasty, and juicy. The serving size is enough for sharing, though.

Chicken Cordon Bleu (P220)
This dish has rolled breaded chicken breast fillet with ham and cheese filling topped with white sauce and served with veggies on the side plus garlic rice. The sauce, for me, was very creamy. The chicken breading wasn't too thick and I could eat the chicken meat easily.

Stockwell's Burger (P250)
It was surprisingly good that this cafe serves a delectable burger. The patty had a smoky yet juicy taste. For its price, it's so sulit.

Squid Ink Pasta (R P250 | L P490)
My least favorite among the food that we tried. I was expecting the sauce to have the squid ink itself but it's actually flavored in the pasta. The taste for me needs an improvement.

Surprisingly, Stockwell Cafe + Lounge met my expectations. I loved the concept of having the one-stop-shop for everyone. Just a reco, they also offer unlimited wine for P549 from 5:00 am to 9:00pm from Monday to Thursday. Overall, my experience was great! And I can wait to bring my family here when I visit SM Fairview.
