Mango Tree | The Taste of Authentic Thai Dishes in Manila

I've never been to Thailand but I love their food. Thanks to the booming industry of restaurants here in the country, we don't need to travel far just to taste international cuisines. One of the restaurants that serve authentic Thai cuisines from 4 different regions of Thailand is Mango Tree.

Mango Tree has three branches here in Metro Manila now since they opened their first store at TriNoma Mall in 2010. I've visited this one since it's the closest location to where I reside. Actually, this branch is bistro-type, meaning it's a little smaller compared to its other branches.

The ambiance of Mango Tree in Trinoma is posh and elegant. But the atmosphere is too dark for me. You may find it a little intimidating but their target markets are mostly from B+ community like celebrities, professionals, adventurous, and the likes. They designed the restaurant perfect for friends, families, and everyone who loves to try high-quality Thai cuisines.

Okra Fai Daeng (P280)
This dish is stir-fried okra mixed with chili. I'm not an okra person but this one tasted so good. It was crunchy and fresh.

Glass Noodle Salad (P220)
I noticed that the usual Thai dishes always have spicy just like this salad. This one was fresh when they served.

Tom Yum Spaghetti (P220)
Tom yum is a hot and sour Thai soup so Mango Tree created a version of spaghetti. The sauce was thick with a kick of lemongrass. However, the pasta was too soggy for me.

Tom Yum Chicken Wings (P290)
If you want a little different version of fried chicken, try this one. It's covered with tom yum powder so expect a mild spicy flavor.

Grilled Honey Spareribs (P520)
Definitely one of their best sellers on the menu. It's pork spareribs covered with honey to make the taste sweeter yet savory. The meat was tender and literally "sarap to the bones!".

Macapuno Salted Egg Ice Cream (P250)
In this era of salted egg, we always see it in every cooking like ice cream. The taste? It was sweet with a balanced taste of saltiness. At first, it's kinda unusual but the two tastes jived with each other.

I loved Mango Tree's concept since they are an upscale version of Thai cuisines. Their price maybe a little higher compared to their direct competitors but they assure you of quality and authentic flavors. I promise that this won't be the last time I would visit them and I heard that their brand at BGC is more aesthetically pleasing in terms of ambiance and has more options for their food.
