Genki Sushi | The Sushi Train Experience

I can't really count how many Japanese restaurants in Metro Manila I've been to. It's not that I'm complaining but if you know me well, I do love Japanese dishes - the excitement, uniqueness, and of course, the freshness of every flavor. Oh well. You. Can't. Blame. Me.

So for this blog series, I dedicated to one of my favorites - Genki Sushi.

I've been to Genki Sushi when I tried their branch at SM Aura way back years ago. Read my blog here. So far, the experience was awesome with those little bullet trains that delivered our freshly prepared sushi. So for this first quarter of the year, I came back again but on their branch at SM City North EDSA.

Just a little background, Genki Sushi is established in Japan in 1990 and is known for its unique and innovative technology via its integrated iPad Touch ordering system and Kousoko Express Train System. The result: convenience, speed, and fun delivery concept! I bet you too will enjoy the cute trains delivering your food.

Genki Sushi's store is very quirky and fun that every diner would surely feel comfortable. You will have your own booth with a seating capacity of up to four people. The tables are all connected to the conveyor belt.

Genki Sushi's main offerings are not limited to sushi but also rice and noodles, tempura, temaki, sashimi, and a lot more. Promise, you won't be runnin' out of options.

If you are going to ask me what are my personal favorites. I HAVE A LOT! Let's start with Hana Sushi which is so soft to bite and fresh. For the salad, I prefer the Genki Salad which has shrimp, salmon, and fresh vegetables that's best with roasted sesame dressing. I also fell in love with their Yellow Tail and Northern Shrimp Sashimi! I would recommend these two if you want to try Genki's sashimi. Another must-try here is their seared options but you may opt to order the trio set instead to taste three flavors. You have three choices: Salmon Trio, Shrimp Trio, and Kanikama Trio. Definitely, don't leave Genki Sushi without trying out their desserts especially the Strawberry Cheesecake and Green Tea Ice Cream. They are to die for!

I love Genki Sushi and I'll promise to be back. Their price points are kinda steep but I assure you, every order is super worth it. Pro-tip: You may view your electronic bill on the iPad if you wish to know how much you spend. Yes, to avoid overspending. Overall, my dining experience was super fun just like the first time!
