Modern Day Filipino Dishes | Abbiocco Alternative Filipino

Filipino dishes are timeless. If you roam around the area of Tomas Morato, you will keep on discovering new Filipino restaurants because the area is mainly for families living in the neighborhood of Quezon City. Filipino taste is basic and straightforward, but when mixed with international taste, it creates authentic new flavors. Thus, the concept of this newly opened Pinoy resto was born - the Abbiocco Alternative Filipino.

Upon entering, a modern yet classy ambiance welcomes every guest at Abbiocco. The yellow and white theme creates a bright interior design that will definitely make your stay happy like rays of sunshine.

If you are wondering what Abbiocco means, it’s an Italian statement for a sleepy feeling after getting a huge satisfying meal. The main focus of Abbiocco’s dishes is to incorporate Italian, Spanish, and Western selections to our main Filipino food. The modern-day dishes are created to serve family traditions and celebrations in authentic and satisfying ways.

Beef Ribs Caldereta with Spanish Chorizo (P628)
One of the best dishes here. The meat was wayyy too tender. The sauce was thick and the veggies were cooked just right.

Abbioco’s Grilled Rack of Pork (P398)
Another must-try here as the pork was cooked just tender. It also had the smokey taste and the sauce worked well with the overall taste.

Fried Shrimp in Salted Egg Sauce (P388)
My foodie friends raved about this dish here in Abbiocco that's why I insisted to order it. It looked delicious but taste was not too impressive. For some reason, it lacked the salted egg flavor and the sad part was the shrimps weren't tasted fresh. I didn't know if it was just me but yes, this dish deserves a second chance because I love shrimps.

Seafood Kare-kare sa Gata (P798)
One of the expensive dishes because it's seafood! I was expecting a lot. The taste was good for a Kare-kare but like the shrimp in the dish above, the crab here wasn't also fresh. Maybe because the batch of all the seafoods were from previous days, I don't know.

Artle’s Multi Cheese Pizza (P528)
Loved this! But need to eat immediately after being served.

Pork Sisig (Price not available)
The taste was okay, perfect for pulutan.

Abbiocco’s menu has potential. I may not be 100% satisfied during my visit but still hoping that they will work on the consistency of every dish they offer considering that their prices are kinda costly. I still can't wait to be back.
