Ramen, Gyoza, and Onigiri | Yummy Tokyo

I must admit that ramen is one of my most consume dishes because of how it gives me so much comfort when I’m craving for something flavorful. So, when I received an invite from Sand Under My Feet for a ramen event, I didn’t hesitate to say yes.

Yummy Tokyo is relatively new ramen house in the scene. Started as a food franchise business, they are now ready to serve authentic yet affordable Japanese food in their first branch in the popular street of Maginhawa, QC.

During the event, they introduced us to Jin Chiba, a Japanese Chef, who developed special recipes for Yummy Tokyo. He is the mastermind behind the dishes of this restaurant which revolves around ramen, onigiri, gyoza, and ramen kits.

When it comes to ramen, they currently have 8 flavors: Miso, Spicy Miso, Tantanmen, Curry, Cold Ramen, Shoyu, Tonkatsu, and Seafood. I tried the Seafood one since I liked to taste a milder broth. Aside from this, they also served Curry and Tantanmen broth for us to check their taste, as well.

Seafood Ramen (P169)
This ramen is made up of noodles in scallop-based soup, topped with cabbage strips, Kani sticks, and narutomaki. On the first sip, the broth was oozing with light but flavorful taste. The noodles were cooked soft and didn’t sogg easily. The only thing that was noticeable was the presentation which I think, they need to come up with additional toppings to add more colors to this dish. Overall, this is must-try ramen if you’re up for a less salty broth.

If you’re up for some game, Yummy Tummy offers UNLIMITED RAMEN for only P399. Yes, that right! You can order any ramen flavors for that reasonable price. It’s unlimited noodles, chashu, aji tamago, and ramen broth. There is no time limit, no sharing, and there should be no leftovers.

Want your unlimited ramen for free? Just finished 5 out of 8 bowls and it's done!

Apart from the ramen, I also tried:

Gyoza (P39/2pcs | P99/6pcs)
This pan-fried Japanese dumpling was so soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. What I loved about this is it's the reasonable price tag. Super sulit and all!

Onigiri (P59)
Another well-known Japanese dish made with white rice and filled with Pinoy-friendly flavors. Yummy Tokyo offers four flavors for Onigiri: Pork Adobo, Roadhouse Chicken, Spam Mayo, and Spicy Tuna. I got the Spam Mayo and it was good, too.

Apart from the dishes I’ve mentioned above, Yummy Tokyo specializes in “make-at-home” ramen kits that their customers can easily prepare at home. Each kits include fresh ingredients which requires simple cooking procedures. In case you’re interested, you can order this through Yummy Panda FB page.

Overall, it was a fan event, not to mention that I really enjoyed their simple Japanese food creations here. I also had the chance to wear Kimono for the first time! Check out our photos here.
