The Meat Paradise | Fat Daddy's Smokehouse

After giving ourselves a break from eating meat this Holy Week, I think we deserve to crave for it. And our cravings could be satisfied with those succulent and tender tasty meats by a well-known smokehouse - the Fat Daddy's Smokehouse.

Located in the ground floor of UP Town Center, Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse offers American style barbecue that first originated in the owners' backyard in Marikina. Now, they are quite popular on their wide range of smoky meats, burgers, tacos, starters, and even desserts.

Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse uses the smoking technique to achieve the best quality of their meat in which it will take hours depends on the meat and its cut. The end process will be tender, smoky, and flavorful meat that may look burnt but actually the mixture of fat and coating of the meat.

On our visit with my fellow bloggers, we tried some of their best sellers. Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse isn’t new to me because I already tried here when I got a chance to be invited for looloo’s rendezvoos. In fact, this restaurant was my very first foodie meet-up, and the rest is history.

Hot Pork Poppers (P175)
A little bit sinful but satisfying dish. It is a thinly-sliced pork belly, deep-fried to achieve the right amount of crispiness. This is best to dip in the Piedmont sauce. I liked how they prepared the crunchiness in every bite!

Jera’s Ultimate Pulled Pork and Beef Nachos (P330)
If you want a big pile of appetizer, then you should try their version of nachos. It is made up of bbq nachos, smoked pulled pork, and smoked bacon together with salsa and jalapeno. Promise, you won’t regret ordering this.

Chef’s Pat Ultimate Cheese Dip (P250)
Another must-order on their line of appetizers. If you love mozzarella and melted cheddar together, then this one is the bomb! I liked how my tortilla chips got a new flavor.

Chiquito’s Grilled Corn (P135)
Try this side dish if you want a little bit of texture for your dish. This is best with chipotle mayo and cheese.

Smoked Pork Ribs (P1,750)
The star of the day! Every one of us couldn’t help but stare with these pork ribs, cooked for about eight hours to achieve the perfect smoky taste. I was so amazed when it was sliced in front of me; the meat was so tender that it fell off its bone. The whole size is really good for sharing up to 5 or more.

Smoked Beef Brisket (P550)
There is a consistency on the tenderness of their meat which is also present on their beef brisket. This one also got a whole smoky taste but I’d still prefer the smoked pork ribs over this.

Chicken Wings (P245 each)
We tried these flavors: Honey Bbq, Honey Mustard, Honey Sriracha, and Salted Egg. My taste buds loved the honey sriracha above all because it has a nice kick of mild spice. Their wings will be a good alternative if you are not fond of smoked meats.

Caramel Drizzled Banana Pudding (P170)
To cleanse of your palate, this dessert is a must-order. The sweetness of the buttered bread topped with ice cream and caramel was a good way to balance the saltiness of the pork I’ve eaten.

Bacon and S’mores Dip (P250)
I find it amusing when Fat Daddy’s used bacon on almost everything, including this dessert. Your usual s’mores gets a new twist!

If this post doesn’t make you hungry, I don’t know what will. Almost all of the dishes that we tried were good but some were salty for me. I think it’s best if paired with plain rice or sweet drinks to balance everything. But overall, it is bang for the buck especially that their serving is pretty huge. Thanks, BC Manila and Fat Daddy’s Smokehouse for the invite.
