Streetfood Trip | Mang Larry's Isawan

It was one hot afternoon when my friends and I decided to visit UP Diliman. And since this University is known for being a street food haven, we ended up going to Mang Larry’s Isawan. You know, it’s quite mandatory when you’re inside UP to visit this place to have a bite of their famous isaw and other delectable street foods.

Actually, Mang Larry’s Isawan moved from place to place. The first time I tried it was when they were near the chapel but now they occupied the space near the College of Fine Arts in Emilio Jacinto Street along with other concessionaires.

We arrived in the area with a lot of people even though it was just 4:00 in the afternoon. I suggest going here at this time around or earlier to avoid getting stuck with customers. The parking space also gets occupied easily so you better consider this when you are planning to bring your own car.

Mang Larry’s Isawan offers different types of street food skewers such as Goto (P10), Gizzard (P10), Isaw Manok (P10), Buchi (P10), Atay  (P10), Special Isaw (P10), Tenga (P10), Pork BBQ (P25), Hotdog (P25), Liempo (P99), Chicken Ass (P20), Inihaw na Tilapia (P90), Inihaw na Bangus (P110), Inihaw na Pusit (P90). They also have other food items such as Squid Ball (P12), Dynamite (P25), Cheese Sticks (P25), Chicken Ball (P15) and many more. They are indeed, street food heaven!

We ordered Goto and Isaw, our favorites. Their Goto was juicy while the isaw was overcooked. The waiting time for our orders was less than an hour which I think, a bit fast considering the volume of orders. For the sauce, they provide big containers for their vinegar and sweet gravy. You can get as many as you want, but please consume it all to avoid food waste.

The tables and chairs are provided within the area but it is first come first serve basis. We also tried some of the food around the area like the mango and dirty ice cream. Yum!

Overall, it was a fun event for us. All the food that we had was so good considering we only spent less. We will definitely be back and try other food around UP Diliman or Maginhawa.
